Variation Omitted message #
Posted by Shane O'Rorke on 13 March 2020 04:38 PM

Issue: You receive a notification of Variation Omitted, with the name of the variation and the string it's applied to.  The variation looks right in the Design Data form, and appears to be applied.

Resolution: This error occurs immediately after you edit a String that is being used in a Variation. It happens if you do NOT design the string for the full length that you are referencing in the variation. You should have received a message about bad levels immediately following deletion of either the first or last IP on the string. After that the general error message about variations not being assigned would have turned up in the message box.

In summary:
- if you add a variation from 0 to 10000 and you reference a String, the String must be designed for it's full length. If the string is 25m long, the string MUST have an IP at zero and an IP at 25. Otherwise the error occurs.
- Design the string for it's full length. You can set the start/end chainage on your variation to apply the string to the code over the chainage range required.
