Civil 3D defaulting to the Geolocation Tab #
Posted by Cameron Smith, Last modified by Selwyn Pendergast on 13 March 2020 03:22 PM

When a drawing opened in Civil 3D has a coordinate system assigned, Civil 3D will automatically change the ribbon to display the Geolocation tab.

To disable this without removing the coordinate system from the drawing perform the following operations:

Open the customize User Interface (Type CUI at the command line)

Expand out Ribbon => Contextual Tab States then scroll down the list and find => Geo Coordinate System Assigned and select Geolocation.

In the properties window to the right, change the Contextual Display Type to Full without focus and click OK.

The Geolocation tab is still available, but is no longer the default selection.
