We have done extensive research on the issues surrounding a move to 4k monitor support. Unfortunately Windows forms, as used throughout Visual Studio (from which we build Civil Site Design) are not built for a dual environment (4k and not 4k). Our attempts so far result in improvements in high dpi monitors (4k) and negative impacts to standard dpi monitors. We are still investigating, but most of the information out there suggests a complete rewrite of the form in another language/extension.|
It looks like it will be a long process for the development team. We are committed to working toward 4k monitors, but so far the impact on form display for standard monitors (which are still the most used in our user base) has prevented implementation.
One option is for us to set up a form that adjusts for 4k and provide it to 4k users for review – our experience is that the form layout is adversely affected when the change happens between standard and 4k.
Some customers are adjusting their 4k monitor resolution to match standard HD. To do this:
- Set the resolution to 1920x1080 (full HD)
- Set the Text Scaling to 100%
