ARD Error Messages after installing 2011.14
Posted by Shane O'Rorke on 13 April 2011 09:40 AM
Some users are finding that ARD stops running after installing ARD 2011.14, and gives some bizarre error messages.
We have found that the latest features in the software (such as the reinstated Corridor output) find a conflict with old/outdated Graphics Card Drivers.  It appears that a bug in OpenGL (that was addressed in recent Graphics Card updates) causes ARD to stop running.
The answer is to update your graphics card, with updates normally being available on the internet via the graphics card supplier's website.  To check what graphics card you have:
- click on the Windows Start button and go into Control Panel
- click on Decice Manager
- expand Display Adapters and and note your installed adapter (right click and go into Properties to review the Driver details to cofirm the driver date)
- look on the internet for the latest video driver for the adapter
- install the video driver update
If problems persist after this is done, something else is going on - lodge support!
