Renaming Alignments with ARD

You have changed alignment names and ARD no longer recognises the Roads/Strings.

If you go ahead and change the name using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ARD loses 'access' to the alignment - it is looking for the Alignment Name to get the road geometry information.

The answer is to use the Rename Roads/String command in ARD - this is located in the Roads tab, on the Edit panel of the ribbon.  It is also found in the menu.

This command will rename the alignment in Civil 3D and update all references to the alignment in the system (so kerb returns, cul-de-sacs, knuckles, etc, stay all connected.Civil 3D 2011 has been released and includes faciltities to add the ANZ (Australia-New Zealand) Country Kit - this countrification kit is intended to optimise AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 for Australian (and New Zealand) customers and includes a collection of ANZ Reports.

If the alignment is renamed using Civil 3D, name it back to the original and use Create/Edit Road to recreate the Roads - your original road data will be adopted (but you may need to use Resample Cross Sections to establish the sampling you originally had).

Version: Civil 3D 2011
