After an install of an Autodesk product, you find that you are getting a message saying PRODUCT LICENSE - OUT OF TIME, License checkout timed out. What do you want to do?
This is a licensing issue and if you follow the procedure below, you will reset the licensing and your Autodesk product should be able to be licensed and run
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing.
- Run the exe as administrator (right-click > Run as administrator). Wait until all the files and folders disappear.
- Navigate back to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\.
- Right-click on theAutodesk Shared folder and select Properties > Security.
- Verify that "Users" and "LOCAL SERVICE" have Full controlpermissions assigned. If not, click ".." to add them both and then select the Full control checkbox for each of them.
- Go to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdskLicensingServiceand remove the files inside.
- Navigate back to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk.
- Right-click on the folder AdskLicensingService > Properties > Security.
- Make sure that "Users" and "LOCAL SERVICE" have Full controlpermissions assigned. If not, click ".." to add them both and then select the Full control checkbox for each of them.
- Open Windows Services (click Start > type msc> press ENTER).
- Find the service Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service, right-click on it and click Stop and then Start (or click Start if the service was not running).
